SESSION MATERIALS
After the taught session on Digimaps, you'll be able to find session materials on Moodle. There's also a brief overview video here: Digimaps
DIGIMAPS GUIDANCE
You will use maps in a number of ways during your course, but for the Eboracum Assessment, you will need to use Digimaps to interact with a primary source (a map):
Use the Digimaps software to produce an annotated map with a 300 word accompanying commentary. Refer back to your notes/the materials from the session on Digimaps for fuller guidance.
The map should offer an overview of a location(s) central to the project:
This can be a single map from a specific period, or a split map showing two periods.
Remember: You can highlight locations, add annotations and appear/disappear features
Once you are happy with the map, it is advised that you take a screen-shot, crop it to show just the map, save it as a JPEG and insert it into the document you are submitting for the assessment.
You must also add 300 words of accompanying commentary, which discusses:
What this is a map of and how it relates to your case-study.
What you hope this map shows (justify the decisions you have made when compiling the map).
